Staying Motivated

Are you still on track?

It's the time of year where it is easy to get knocked off course a little, sunshine, vacations, school holidays all add to a change of everyday routines so don't forget to keep asking those same three questions at the end of each day.

1) Did my actions today take me closer to achieving my goal or further away?

2)What was the one positive thing I noticed today?

3)What am I looking forward to tomorrow?

Staying motivated can be just as hard as reaching a goal itself, maybe it is time for a new strategy or a new way of thinking!

What are they doing now, what’s not being done and what could they be doing: these are the basic questions I ask myself every time when I look at a situation. These questions are my “queue” to find out what it is that can be done better, easier and smarter creating measurable progress within a reasonable timespan

Please remember only you and you alone can change your current situation. Don't blame it on anything or anyone.

Don't rely on someones else's motivation. If someone pushes you to try a certain motivational strategy, make sure it both fits into your plan and that it is going to work for you also. Just because your friend is doing the newest exercise craze to hit this months health & fitness magazine and wants you to do it with them, doesn’t mean that it is doing to be ideal and motivating for you. One of the most common things I see is that people try to make changes without really thinking about their reason why.

We’re so easily influenced by the friends, family and more commonly what's in the media, and we get so caught up in what other people are doing, that we can often end up trying to become second rate versions of someone else, rather than just being us!

Using someone else motivation simply doesn't work. Find what works for you and use that as your motivation!

Staying focused on what you want is necessary to stay on track. It’s also important not to be too hard on ourselves when we fall behind or get off-track. Please don't go beating yourself up over it or, even worse, giving up entirely – take a breather and remember why you started in the first place.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO START OVER AGAIN. THIS TIME YOU'RE NOT STARTING FROM SCRATCH, YOU'RE STARTING FROM EXPERIENCE!
