It's time to stop waiting for things to happen, and become the happening thing

So this time two years ago I was boarding the overnight ferry from Rotterdam to Hull. What I have learned in the last two years is how quickly you can go from somebody to nobody real quick. 

Well it's time to stop waiting for things to happen and become the happening thing. 

This country has nothing for me. Within four or five days of arriving in the U.K LinkedIn had me as a perfect match to deliver training to Border Force officers, only to fall at the last hurdle because I had not been a resident in the UK for the last 5 years. FFS I WAS BORN HERE. 

We move on and LinkedIn again have me as a perfect match in the as a Security, Violence Prevention and Reduction Manager, at Manchester University within the Oxford Road Campus for the NHS. Guess what!

Not being a resident in the UK for the last 5 years makes me unqualified for the role. 

So maybe for now I should lower my sights a little and find something that doesn't require me having 5 years residency. 

Three part time jobs later and enough is enough. With the upmost respect to Admiral Casino, Coral Bookmakers & Group 4 Security I have much more to offer you than you were prepared to offer me.

I did look at maybe setting up private lessons in personal protection however, the public liability insurance premiums is this county is just plain crazy. (If there's a blame there a claim culture) So I wrote a book about it instead. 

I think two years is a good period of time to find your feet and establish a role in the community. It just hasn't happened for me and things don't look like it's worth waiting around. 


So taking some good out advice from arguably the best motivational speaker who ever lived, I am going to take my chances and my skills back into the ex pat world once again.

Turning 65 isn’t entirely pleasant, and I am not complaining about growing old because it is a privilege I have seen denied to many. I still have a passion for sharing 'The Power of One. Coaching & Teaching others. Passing on good knowledge is what life is really all about. And I intend to do it in a country where people appreciate learning. I recently became qualified to teach Boxercise. Now that's going to be a challenge in a country that is steeped in the tradition of it's very own Muay Thai, but then again my life has been defined by people telling me things are impossible, then me doing them anyhow. 

There is much to learn from that in knowing & understanding that your mindset is a more powerful force in shaping your life than your biology. Coincidences are nothing more than your reticular activating system identifying what’s important to you and then giving your conscious mind more opportunities to notice them out in the world. You’re more in control here than you think.

From the desk of Steve Drake – Wednesday 14th June 2023

Due to the government’s response to the covid 19 pandemic in 2020 several training dates that had been planned to coincide with the official launch of my first published book 'Blueprints 4 Success' never got off the ground. However, we are going for a relaunch in the summer of 2023. 🚀 This time I am leaning towards the e book route to cut out the extortionate delivery costs. There is a new chapter that is not in the original book and the 'Power of One seminars are right back on the agenda. Exciting times ahead 📅 

You know I don't hide behind a fake email address or any address, and I DO return phone calls (as time permits). And I answer my emails. 

I am currently in the U.K. (Manchester) but plans are in the advanced preparation stage to move out to Thailand. The wait is almost over. I have put together a totally unique package of low tech and high impact team building events incorporating education and entertainment. 

Let me give you a heads up. You have heard me say many times that our brain is the most powerful bio-computer ever created, but unfortunately, it does not come with an operator’s manual.

Let me explain what I mean.

You can't get wet from the word water! The downfall with many Team Building presentations is that people can get inspired by the achievements of others and even feed off the presenter's enthusiasm. However, this enthusiasm often wears off.

The key to having a highly motivated workforce is employees learning how to motivate themselves regardless of the situation or circumstances. If you have been taught through the usual tried old patterns of explanation, demonstration, and drill, then the most important and useful part of your ability to learn has been left out. 

My events are performance targeted and light years away from the standard ‘chalk and talk’ style still so beloved by traditional trainers, This isn't about business theory, and I am really looking forward to sharing the secrets of self motivation in 'The Power of One'.

Nobody on the road, Nobody on the beach, I feel it in the air .....

The summer's out of reach



Today was a public holiday in the UK, known as bank holiday Monday and a day off work for some people (not all) and that's it now until CHRISTMAS.

So how does knowing that make you feel?

It's good to ask yourself how you are feeling (emotional state) because that is the first step in the framework for creating change, How you look at a situation influences what happens around you. Ask yourself what's my focus? Am I focusing on something I want or don't want?

Then ask yourself what do I want Vs what do I really want.

Am I seeing the opportunities or am I only seeing the obstacles, am I focusing on the problem or the solution.

The next 90 days are crucial to staying focused on those goals you set at the start of the year, hopefully, the short term goals are done and dusted, the midterm goals are now your short term goals and you need to focus on the final weeks and months of your midterm and long term goals.

We need to focus on what needs to happen and focus on where you want to go. The summer holidays are over and you now need to switch your focus to what you want to achieve in for the rest of 2019.



No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up and never give up.

I WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU 5 WAYS TO GO FROM A “CAN’T DO” TO A “CAN DO” MINDSET:

1. See problems as opportunities
2. Tell negative people it’s really time for you to go
3. Eliminate limiting beliefs from your life
4. Refuse yourself permission to settle for anything less than you can really be
5. Maintain an ALL IN I can-do mindset

The above is a simple strategy, don't dismiss it because of its simplicity.






You can solve very big problems with very small actions. Ask yourself what is the smallest action I could do right now to start and make a big difference to what I want in the future.

Remember the moments that changed your life forever? … There’s another one coming.

Martin would be very proud to see what you guys have created with MIB UNLIMITED.

What Martin taught us all was unmistakably unique, he was by far the best teacher I ever had, to use of the word excellent teacher does not sound enough for what I have achieved through his knowledge and guidance.

And now it warms me to see many of Martin's close friends, and students who are now making their own mark in the world. I am so very proud of Sandra and the rest of you guys for carrying on his legacy.

HT2 Event (Human Technology)

That despite what may be happening to you in your life you can choose how to deal with it – and that the biggest factor is how we use our physiology. If you act in a congruent manner for long enough then you will get that response – good or bad.

When you are in a better mood more of the time you make better decisions and get better outcomes – the reverse is also true – and when you decide to do this you get more of what you want, more of the time or more of what you don’t want more of the time – its down to you!

A look at how easily the subconscious can be guided.

Why many of the beliefs we have about ourselves that limit our performance, when examined closely and honestly, are untrue, untested and self imposed? Human Technology Seminar

The business card becomes an exercise resulting in a ‘Paradigm Shift’ most people often find this a wake up call

Knowledge is Power.

Moving the fulcrum exercise - Knowledge is to start of our road map to success, of course many people know what to do, the key is to get people to constantly do what they know.

State Management - Calibration

Exercise to look at the concept of state management.
Exploring the strategies people already have and how to use these at will.
How the way we use our bodies dictates what state we enter.
How we can model states for any state we want.
When we realise that we can access any state we want, we are able to control how we respond in any given situation. Just imagine what a resource this could be, the ability to be motivated, assertive, aggressive, determined, creative, etc. whatever you want whenever you want, despite what may be going on around you!


The Clock Face

An exercise in self belief. What happens when we start something without a clear goal in mind? How to visualize goals, what they look, feel and sound like. How the subconscious responds to this visualization.


Transformational Linguistics

Understanding how the use of language that changes your reality.
The voices in your head – recognising it’s your voice.
Tonality and feelings, how the sounds you make affect your mood. Irritable Vowel Syndrome - how the way you talk to yourself and others affects the subconscious, with both the words and the tonality.

FEAR

False evidence appearing real. The spider in a box – examining how fear produces physical responses. Why do fears stop us from doing the things we need or want to do?
Face the fear and watch it disappear – a mantra for life. How to use the tools that we have already looked at in order to operate in spite of fear, and go beyond it to master the things in life that stop us from performing.

Turn your Fear into Power

Experiential exercise culminating in delegates using the learning tools of the day into a commitment to making a small decision in there life to reap the huge rewards of change, some people call this a breakthrough and that is exactly how we finish the day, the vast majority of people when asked if they surprised themselves in the last exercise say yes, it is easy to confirm that ….
