Dear Parent
I am already very excited about the opportunity I have to bring ‘Mixed Martial Arts’ as a new after school activity next term
Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA as it is now widely known is the fastest growing sport in the world today and it gives children a chance to learn several skills used from basic training in Boxing, Grappling, Judo, Jujutsu, Karate, Kick Boxing, Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do.
Fun games and role play are encouraged to utilize the MMA skills while working on technique, coordination, balance, reflex time and focus, all this adds up to creating the enthusiasm to develop fitter, safer, more respectful and confident children.
The sign up day for this new activity will be on Monday 24th March 2008 from 2.30 to 3.30 pm and for this new term I want to introduce a MMA uniform (optional) for the students along with an end of term examination. Some of the older students have expressed an interest about a grading system.
I am delighted to tell you that every student in the new term will be graded in MMA. Of course uniforms and coloured belts will mean an additional cost, however I think I have sourced a good supplier that will give me a good discount and because I will be buying the uniforms in bulk this allows me to pass those savings onto you.
Just to put your mind at rest, a uniform is not something you would buy every year like your child’s school uniform, I can tell you that on the road to me getting my black belt I replaced my uniform only once between the ages of 13 and 19.
If parents want to ask me any questions about the new term or wish to learn more about self defense themselves please call me, my number is 050 244 7590 or you can email me on drake_base@hotmail.com or take a look at my brand new website at http://www.uaemartialarts.com/

Have a great holiday everyone
Kind regards
Steve Drake
